Movie imitates life, but does it work the other way around?

These pictures were taken many years in between (the 1st one from 1988) is from the ABC movie War & Remembrance - me with the Austrian extras - having a yellow star - the one my parents and other relatives had to really wear during the Nazi madness; the second picture (1993), is from my days at SFSU during the protest against the MalcomX mural anti-Semitic depictions, instigated by the extreme left on the campus (motley brew of various official and fringe groups of Latinos, African-Americans, anarchists, Spartacists, PC freaks, Trockyites, Communists - most of them not the students of San Francisco State University)...
